About BACOVA Post Mounted Mailboxes
BACOVA is the home of the American Classic Mailbox. Since 1965, each box has been individually hand-crafted in historic Bath Country, Virginia. Their classic fiberglass mailbox is specially designed to resist wear and weather, and is custom made to order. Their American Classic Mailbox designs have become a tradition in the industry and can be seen all over the United States from coast to coast.

All mailboxes feature double sided designs and personalized text. These boxes are available in 3 Sizes, Small (19"L x 6"W x 9"H), Medium (22"L x 8"W x 11"H) or Large (23"L x 11"W x 15"H) with fiberglass bodies.

For those individuals who have problems with vandals, we recommend the Strong Box size option. The Strong Box is a 20"L x 7"W x 9.5"H Mailbox, which has a Fiberglass body wrapped around 12 guage steel. Thorough Market testing with baseball bats, 2x4's and steel pipes show this mailbox to be resistant to the typical abuse that is so often targeted at roadside mailboxes.

Each residential mailbox can be personalized with up to 2 lines of text (except small box which can only hold one line of text). The first line is available at no additional cost, but a second line does come at an additional cost (please refer to options for pricing). All text is applied in capital letters. The details are as follows:

Small box can hold 1 line of text with a maximum of 18 characters including spaces
Strong Box can hold 1 line of text with a maximum of 20 characters including spaces
Medium Box can hold 2 lines of text with a maximum of 20 characters, including spaces, per line
Large box can hold 2 lines of text with a maximum of 22 characters, including spaces, per line.

Please note that the flag side art of this mailbox is offset, so that the art work is viewable when the flag is down. As an option, you can have the art work centered to match the non-flag side.

This product is approved for use by the United States Postal Service
USPS approval covers every letterbox or receptacle intended for the delivery of postage paid mail on any mail route. From the point of the manufacturer, this includes flag size, mailbox size, strength, and quality of construction. Generally, all mailbox interiors and door access are regulated to receive expected mail sizes. Residential curbside or rural mailboxes and post packages also must accommodate an installation height of 41-45 in. from the road surface to inside floor of the mailbox or point of mail entry (locked designs). A separate set of regulations is provided for all Commercial Mailboxes.
