About the Materials and Design The Whitehall Chalet Mailbox is made from stamped steel for strength and durability and will handle oversized packages and large envelopes. The strong steel post is long enough to cement into the ground and provides a stable mount for the Chalet Mailbox. Steel is a rust and maintenance free material as is the aluminum used in the decorative accents of the Chalet Mailbox Packages. The cast aluminum skirt slides over the steel post and the mounting plate and mailbox are attached to finish the look of the Classic Chalet Mailbox Package. About the Finishes The Whitehall Chalet Mailbox and Post have a high quality powder coat finish, well known for its uniformity, durability, and protective nature. Powder coated surfaces are more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing than other finishes, and colors stay bright and vibrant longer. The mailbox is available in four colors, including Bronze, Black, Green and White. About the Options Personalization: This style of Chalet Mailbox can be personalized with 5” high adhesive numbers. These large numbers are visible from quite a distance away. Available in satin brass or satin nickel, each side of the mailbox can accommodate a maximum of five numbers. Newspaper Holder: Made of aluminum and powder coated to match your mailbox, the Chalet newspaper holder is a full 7.8”W x 5.5”H x 20”D and is easily mounted. USPS approval covers every letterbox or receptacle intended for the delivery of postage paid mail on any mail route. From the point of the manufacturer, this includes flag size, mailbox size, strength, and quality of construction. Generally, all mailbox interiors and door access are regulated to receive expected mail sizes. Residential curbside or rural mailboxes and post packages also must accommodate an installation height of 41-45 in. from the road surface to inside floor of the mailbox or point of mail entry (locked designs). A separate set of regulations is provided for all Commercial Mailboxes.

Product Review

Looks good on my house. Product quality was very good. However it is not user friendly for the USPS mail carrier. The mail carrier has only one free hand available to get the mail into the mailbox. This mail box door, in most cases, requires two hands to operate. The mail cannot easily be put in the mailbox due to the lip design of the door. The spring loaded door adds to the difficulty of getting mail into this mailbox. This mailbox is not user friendly for the mail carrier.
