Our Solar Lighthouse Mailboxes are masterfully crafted using high quality wood and water resistant materials to stand up to the worst that mother nature can throw at it. Instead of displaying an inexpensive metal mailbox, these custom mailboxes were designed to compliment your home or cabin.
About the Construction
Each mailbox is individually hand made – not mass produced. They are built by skilled woodworkers to withstand all the elements year after year. Specific care is given to solid assembly and detail. To insure against separation and leakage, all joints are glued with waterproof adhesives and the hardware is rust resistant. Most mailboxes, hand-crafted like this one, do not use joint glue. As time passes, the wood absorbs moisture through those joints leading to swelling, separation and eventually leaks. Our mailboxes are built to protect against any moisture absorption and will perform flawlessly for years.
About the Materials and Finish
The roof shingles are made of cedar and single coat of preservative is applied to protect it from the elements. The bottom is made of 5/8" T1-11 exterior plywood and the body is 1/2" T1-11 exterior plywood. Most mailbox details are made from flexible exterior plastics or treated woods. All mailboxes are pre-painted with primer and sealer and then painted inside and out with a premium exterior paint that has a lifetime guarantee. They can also be custom painted to match your home. About the Solar Light
It is sun powered – no batteries or wires! The solar light on top of the lighthouse mailbox is an Intermatic solar light. Sunlight recharges batteries by day and then lights up automatically at night. A beacon direct to your door.
About the Options
Mailbox Mounting Kit: An optional assembly kit is available for easy mounting. It includes a treated wood base, a package of assembly screws, and instructions.
Personalization:: Make this mailbox all yours! House numbers ( up to four) and names can be added on front of mailbox at your request.
Roof Preservative: If you live in a harsh climate, we recommend an extra coat of preservative to insure your new mailbox will weather all the elements.
