About the Materials
The Streetside Mailbox, Post and flame brackets are all crafted of die cast aluminum. Cast aluminum is an extremely durable, yet lightweight metal that is 100% rust free. The Streetside Mailbox is made by pouring hot aluminum into a mold of the product. During construction, the aluminum undergoes substantial amounts of pressure, which produces an extremely dense material that will withstand years of wear and tear (includes manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty).
About the Finish
The Streetside Mailbox and Post are finished in a highly protective powder coat finish. Powder coating is well known for its uniform, durable, and high quality finish and is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading, than other finishes. Colors stay bright and vibrant much longer. The mailbox is available in three finishes, including Bronze, Black, and White.
About the Personalized Plaques,
You can customize your new mailbox with personalized plaques. Each mailbox package includes two side plaques and one door plaque. Available in gold, the text for line one of the side plaques is 3”H while line two can accommodate 16 – 1.25”H characters. The door plaque can hold one line of five - 1.25"H characters.
About the Mailbox
The Streetside Mailbox is designed for today's increased amount of mail. The front door swings open from a magnetic catch inside the mailbox to reveal a generous sized incoming mail compartment. The mailbox dimensions are 9.6"W x 13"H x 20.375"D, which is large enough to hold multiple days worth of mail, magazines, and catalogs, and larger than the typical mailbox.
About the Post
Like most mailbox posts today, the Streetside post is installed over a 4" x 4" post. Installation requires a 48"H – 4” x 4" post to be buried 30" in the ground, leaving 18" sticking out. The Streetside post then slips over the 4” x 4” and attaches with the included hardware. When installed correctly, the mailbox height will meet USPS Postal regulations.
