The Copper Roof of the Sherwood Cupola is both visually appealing and structurally sound. The roof is made from 16-ounce, 24-gauge unfinished copper, so the roof will patina beautifully over time. Supporting the copper roof, is a wooden base treated to withstand moisture, rotting, and insect damage.

The mid-section of the Sherwood Wood cupolas features an Arched Top Louvered ventilation system. The horizontal and vertical slats are angled to admit light and air, but to keep out rain and direct sunshine.

The Shiplap Wood Base of the Sherwood Cupola offers functionality with a decorative touch. The base is designed to accept a 10/12 pitch (10” rise per foot). However if the roof pitch is steeper than a 10/12 pitch, you will need to order the available extension base. For example, up to a 12/12 roof pitch, 1 Extension Base is needed, while up to a 14/12 roof pitch, 2 Extension Bases are required. The product includes all instructions and hardware needed for easy installation.

The Sherwood Cupola is weathervane or finial ready. The top of the cupola has a hole, which can accept up to a 1” weathervane or finial post. Inside the roof, a bracket attaches the post to the cupola for additional fortification.

When selecting the right size Cupola for your home or business, there is a good rule of thumb to follow; use 1.5 inches of cupola for every foot of unbroken roofline. For example, if a roof section measures 24 feet, the minimum cupola size should be approximately 36 inches square. For a more dramatic effect, or if a cupola larger than 60 inches square is needed, consider using two cupolas on the roofline. Should you choose to use two cupolas, the rule of thumb changes to one (1) inch of cupola for every foot of unbroken roofline.
