This rural sized mailbox has a rounded top that sheds water and reached just below the mounting plate to give a pleasing finished look. The flag, when raised, locks in place to ensure your mail will be picked up. A baked-on electrostatic polyester powder coating ensures a great look and long life without rust. To keep it looking new, we recommended a simple application of car wax and polish. At seven (7) foot tall and 5 ½” square there is plenty of length to allow for up to a 30" burial and support it’s added newspaper holder. The Danbury Posts and Newspaper Holders are made in Maine from cedar – one of nature's most durable woods. They are pre-stained with two coats of white stain and are as durable as they are stylish. No matter the weather, season after season, these posts are made to last for years to come. About the Optional Personalization For the sides of your mailbox, an adhesive sheet is prepared to your exact specifications and easy to apply. Shipped under separate cover, the characters you specify will be proportioned perfectly for your mailbox up to 22 characters. The exact size of the characters depends on how much you put on one line. USPS approval covers every letterbox or receptacle intended for the delivery of postage paid mail on any mail route. From the point of the manufacturer, this includes flag size, mailbox size, strength, and quality of construction. Generally, all mailbox interiors and door access are regulated to receive expected mail sizes. Residential curbside or rural mailboxes and post packages also must accommodate an installation height of 41-45 in. from the road surface to inside floor of the mailbox or point of mail entry (locked designs). A separate set of regulations is provided for all Commercial Mailboxes.
