About this Mailbox Package The Brandon Legacy Double Mailbox Package includes two Legacy style mailboxes, and a fluted, side-mount post topped with a Round Finial. The six foot high, three inch diameter in-ground post includes a burial pipe that is first set in concrete and then secured in place with set screws. To finish the bottom of the post, a 24 inch high slipover decorative base, similar to a collar, slides over the top of the pole and rests on the concrete pad. Supporting the Legacy mailboxes is a simple dual bracket with two newspaper holders. Unlike many of the newspaper holders on the market, these are big enough to hold a large Sunday newspaper. The standard color for Brandon Industries products is a semi-gloss black polyester powder coat finish. Dark Bronze and Dark Green powder coats are also available for a slightly higher price. The Verde Green and Antique Bronze finishes are hand painted enamel highlights on top of the black finish.

USPS approval covers every letterbox or receptacle intended for the delivery of postage paid mail on any mail route. From the point of the manufacturer, this includes flag size, mailbox size, strength, and quality of construction. Generally, all mailbox interiors and door access are regulated to receive expected mail sizes. Residential curbside or rural mailboxes and post packages also must accommodate an installation height of 41-45 in. from the road surface to inside floor of the mailbox or point of mail entry (locked designs). A separate set of regulations is provided for all Commercial Mailboxes.

I had looked for a decently made cast aluminum rural mailbox on the 'net on several occasions, and had always come up with either what appeared to be very lightweight, inexpensive models, or very robust cast models that cost more than I wanted to spend. While I'm sure the expensive mailboxes are really nice, I just didn't want to end up spending several hundred dollars for two mailboxes and a post. On my last quest, I came across this mailbox, and I must say, I am *extremely* pleased with this product. It is a substantial mailbox, no inexpensive sheet metal here! The magnetic door latch seems strong but not so much that it is difficult to disengage. The piano hinge is smooth and should serve well for many years. The flag operates smoothly, no wobbling or play in its hinge and feels like it will stay put. The overall quality is just excellent, and at a price point that didn't break the bank. I highly recommend this mailbox to anyone that wants a solid, affordable, and attractive rural mailbox. Kudos to Amazon and the manufacturer for a great product!!!
